Review content:
I wish no starts were possible. These people are completely unprofessional. I'm very by the book and tried to have everything in order when I moved out. No one responds to emails, they just ignore you.
My lease ended on October 31st. I didn't receive lease paper work to renew until October 15th. At that point I'd already started looking for a new place, because I didn't know if they'd raise my rent. (Apartment is not rent stabilized, they could raise it to ANYTHING.)
After receiving paper work I emailed them to let them know I wasn't going to renew and offered a full month's notice if they would like, at my current rent. (Which was the same amount as the new lease was for, they in fact did not raise the rent.) After MANY attempts to get ahold of someone, talked to a woman who said that would be fine, but be sure to send a formal letter that I was moving out, email wasn't good enough. So I included a formal letter with the last month's rent check. What a disaster!! I haven't heard from anyone and they are still sending rent slips to that apartment in my name!!! How can they not know I'm gone? Between a phone call, email and a formal letter???? They cashed the rent check, so I know they got the letter.
Unbelievable!!! Maybe they will pull it together and I'll receive my deposit in the next few months. Otherwise I'm going to small claims court.
