The one star rating is completely missing the point and way off. Sure you can compare the previous place to the way it is now, but in all honesty, the ""cave-like"" division of the previous shop was dark and felt more like a world of cubicles than a true coffee shop where you can make eye contact with fellow coffee lovers and those who come in to have a good drink and end up staying to just sit back, relax, and enjoy the world for a while. I've been to the coffee shop owned by the previous owners - once. Now I find myself coming almost every day.
If you've ever been passionate about something, you'll recognize how much great energy you can pour into your work (pun intended) - the truth is that New World Coffee serves up really some of the best coffee around. I've visited nearly all the coffee houses in Raleigh and I dare you to compare a drink like the traditional cappuccino available at New World. For those that really want to get to know good espresso...there is no better place.
