At the worst possible time, my sixty year old hot water retaining tank, that was part of an ancient oil driven boiler, ruptured and was leaking throughout the basement area. I called four plumbers, three of whom came to my home with estimates. Steve from Mainstream called and sold me on the job by phone! He was the only one who talked about code, safety, and shockingly, the importance of making sure things were 'done right'.
Steve worked alone and spent the better part of 8 hours laboring over every aspect of the job. He was friendly and informative and instilled confidence in the product he had delivered and was installing, a Rheam fifty gallon power vented gas hot water heater. He tapped into a gas line that was servicing my kitchen stove and disconnected my old retaining tank and capped the ends so as not to continue leaking. The work was meticulous and perfect to the eye. The connecting and soldering of PVC and copper piping was letter perfect and the new system was running perfectly when Steve left. The finished product and cleanup were exemplary and if ever there was such a thing as 'a bargain' in the world of home repairs...this was it!
As a finishing touch, Steve asked to look at the leak I had told him about in my bedroom shower that was noisy and cost us at least 6 gallons of water a day. In five minutes and at no additional cost the leaking stopped and quiet was restored to the bedroom area...incredible! I have had numerous 'butchers' of all types come into my home and almost evey one left me shaking my head and feeling as if I had just been taken for a ride. Steve was more than just a breath of fresh air...it was Christmas in March in my household! What a pleasure to have something really well done and the knowledge that it won't break down or be an eye sore over the years! Thank you Steve and just in case anyone has an emergency or needs the right man to bring integrity, craftmanship, and honesty back into their life...Steve Silvestre is your man. He didn't make up for all the incompetent thieves I've paid handsomely for over the years, but he sure came close. Thank you Steve, you've restored my faith in humanity! The highest recommendation for your efforts.
