I have been using Mainstream Plumbing for over 15 years. Steve Silvestri is extremely professional and very knowledgable about all things plumbing and heating. He has done work on two kitchen installations, three bathrooms, multiple water heaters and a new heating system. He always gets back to me when I call. He dropped everything when I had a leak in a pipe in my ceiling just a few weeks ago. I would never dream of using anyone else. It's so hard to find good contractors. Steve is a gem!! more

After many years of deciding whether to relocate or remain in our home, we have now almost completed a total renovation. Steven of Mainstream Plumbing and Heating moved and replaced sewer pipes in the house, all plumbing pipes, all existing fixtures in two bathrooms, installed a jet stream bathtub in one bathroom and all new pipes and appliances in our new kitchen. He also replaced the gas lines along with installing a new wash sink and fixtures in the basement. After several conversations with him, he now has also installed a new sump pump and jet pump in the basement, which has helped us with a water problem we have had since moving into this home. Steven is a true professional; meticulous in his work, knowledgeable, kind, fair, and most importantly, honest and trustworthy. It was a pleasure having him in our home and we will ask him to return for any future repairs or installations necessary. I would highly recommend Steven to anyone who is contemplating any plumbing work. After many years and many plumbers in our home, I have now found someone who I can call and know my problem will be addressed quickly and professionally. At the worst possible time, my sixty year old hot water retaining tank, that was part of an ancient oil driven boiler, ruptured and was leaking throughout the basement area. I called four plumbers, three of whom came to my home with estimates. Steve from Mainstream called and sold me on the job by phone! He was the only one who talked about code, safety, and shockingly, the importance of making sure things were 'done right'. Steve worked alone and spent the better part of 8 hours laboring over every aspect of the job. He was friendly and informative and instilled confidence in the product he had delivered and was installing, a Rheam fifty gallon power vented gas hot water heater. He tapped into a gas line that was servicing my kitchen stove and disconnected my old retaining tank and capped the ends so as not to continue leaking. The work was meticulous and perfect to the eye. The connecting and soldering of PVC and copper piping was letter perfect and the new system was running perfectly when Steve left. The finished product and cleanup were exemplary and if ever there was such a thing as 'a bargain' in the world of home repairs...this was it! As a finishing touch, Steve asked to look at the leak I had told him about in my bedroom shower that was noisy and cost us at least 6 gallons of water a day. In five minutes and at no additional cost the leaking stopped and quiet was restored to the bedroom area...incredible! I have had numerous 'butchers' of all types come into my home and almost evey one left me shaking my head and feeling as if I had just been taken for a ride. Steve was more than just a breath of fresh air...it was Christmas in March in my household! What a pleasure to have something really well done and the knowledge that it won't break down or be an eye sore over the years! Thank you Steve and just in case anyone has an emergency or needs the right man to bring integrity, craftmanship, and honesty back into their life...Steve Silvestre is your man. He didn't make up for all the incompetent thieves I've paid handsomely for over the years, but he sure came close. Thank you Steve, you've restored my faith in humanity! A few months ago, a friend recommended Steven for our bathroom renovation. We interviewed 2 other plumbers for the job, Steven was the most professional. We are so HAPPY that we chose him. Three years ago, steve silvestri installed our plumbing and heating systems for our entire house. Since then, we've had no heat or severe lack of heat in several rooms (he installed the radiant heat pumps upside down and did not turn on valves), hot water coming out of our cold water faucets, dripping drain pipes in three of our sinks, almost every plumbing fixture he installed had to be reinstalled by another plumber b/c he couldn't do it properly, I've had a new kitchen faucet, 2 shower sprays, handheld tub spray, 5 toilet levers, replaced and reinstalled because he broke them while he was installing them improperly. He refused to accept he did these things wrong and told us that we were incorrect and did not know what we were talking about. I would NEVER recommend him and I WOULD BEWARE if you ever consider using him other than switching out a valve in your simplest plumbing fixture.
