Review content:
I was invited by a couple of friends to dine with them at Wild Wok after attending a movie on Friday evening November 13th. As a certified executive chef, perhaps I am a bit more critical than the average dining public, but I must say that I was somewhat less than impressed by the food. It was presented well, but it was definitely lacking in flavor. I ordered the Hot and Sour Soup as an appetizer. It was neither Hot (Spicy) nor Sour (Acidic). It tased more like Eggdrop Soup, somewhat bland, more like salty thickened chicken stock. All the proper garniture were present, the dried mushrooms, the tofu, the julienne bamboo shoots, but it lacked both the heat and acidity I have come to expect in well prepared Hot and Sour Soup. For my main course, I ordered the Spicy Thai Basil Chicken. I told my server, ""the spicier the better"", which apparently was not communicated to the chef. The dish was quite disappointing to say the least. It was definitely not spicy and I could not even find a trace of Thai Basil in the dish. I did not express my dissatisfaction with my meal to the server since I was not the one picking up the tab, But if I were the one paying for the meal, I would definitely have complained about not getting what I was paying for. Pros: Very busy restaurant Cons: Food: average, somewhat disappointing
