This is a locally owned business and I still have not figured out why they are still around when fair prices and humane service seem to be important to most people. It must be an extreme adversion to driving to a larger store. When I have really, really needed to save time I use the post office here. The owners have a fake leg hanging out of a box prominently dislplayed at the counter that says ""The last rude customer"". I have always found this puzzeling because the woman who owns this place is truely and consistantly most unpleasant. A few years back during the holidays and the ground covered in snow, there were over a dozen people in line to mail packages, a young woman went up to the line (she dared not cross the tape on the carpet which instructs customers to stay there while the person ahead of them is at the counter) She had several packages and presented a check, to which the owner very tersely said ""No checks!"" The young woman went on to say she was a student at the U of W and these were her families Christmas gifts and she did not have cash on her and that she was from Spokane, the owner practically shouted ""No checks, no exceptions!"" The young woman left in tears. You could have heard a pin drop, I was too stunned to try to intervene and I think of the experience nearly every time I drive by. I remind myself that the post office at Carillon Point is never very busy and the extra drive is actually a gift to have a look at Lake WA. The other thing I always ponder when I drive by Juanita Bay Pharmacy is Karma.
