I grew up in Santa Cruz and always heard The Buttery was one of the better bakeries in the local area. While the bakery is decent, I highly caution anyone looking to purchase a wedding cake from The Buttery. While planning my wedding a year ago, I heard that the cakes weren't all they were cracked up to be since changing bakers the last few years. My husband and I went anyway to do a tasting. The woman we met with was really disorganized and the cake wasn't fresh and was mediocre at best.
