To be fair, I have taken my dogs to be groomed on three occasions and they all came out looking great. But the last time I took in my Labradoodle, they made a mess of him. The receptionist was quite comprehensive in asking questions about how I wanted the dog groomed. He and I spoke to the groomer. I comb my Labradoodle daily, so there is no need to shave him. I told them to cut 1/3 of his hair off. Instead they left only a bit of hair on, and the cut is highly uneven. He looks as if he had to be shaved because I didn't take care of him, and there was no option but to cut his hair quite close.
Pros: They did offer to try to help, but truly nothing would help except hair extensions. (I'm joking of course!)
Cons: Terrible hair cut on my dog, didn't follow my highly specific directions
