Very few restaurants inspire me to even write a review, so the fact that I am writing this says a lot. My friend turned me on to this place a few months back, and I have visited them many times since then. They have a great thin crust pizza made with organic dough and sauce... an unusual treat. A plain cheese slice is very satisfying, but they also offer a wide selection of signature pies. My personal favorite is the meat lovers pie, which has a great combo of meats and whole milk mozarella. My wife prefers the veggie route, and loves their mushroom pie, which uses a tasty combo of shrooms and truffle oil. When you walk into the place, it's pretty obvious that these people care about quality. The place is clean, the service is great, and it's nicely decorated. Most times I've been there, the owner has walked by, said hello, and has welcomed my feedback on the place. Good customer service seems to be a thing of the past for most places, but these guys really get it. The owner is also a blues musician and supports the local arts, which is very cool. They have nice local artwork on the walls, and he says that live music will be coming soon. I think this place will do well, because they offer the whole package... great food and a great atmosphere. Kudos to Bobby G's... these guys have done a great job in building a nice destination for casual but quality food in downtown Berkeley.
