We love, love, LOVE the margherita! My husband and I do take out quite a bit from this place, and hope they start delivering soon. We have tried most of the salads, and tend to go back and forth between the organic baby greens and the caeser. Consistently good food and nice service. more

A great spot in downtown Berkeley. Organic pie (yes, you can taste the difference!), great draft beer selection, and great live music. This place has great service to boot... nice people who seem to appreciate customer service (rare these days) and do a nice job of offering the whole package. more

QUALITY: Below average. Not fresh tasting. Pros: Organic, vegan & vegetarian offerings Cons: The vegetable pizza we ordered was not flavorful and tasted as if it had been frozen. Crust had a very flat, bland taste. Veggies were tasteless. Salad was average. more

I had just a terrible craving for a slice of pepperoni pizza - and knew of Bobby G's because there was another pizza establishment located there before they moved there or took over the business. Their slices were HUGE - but I was so dissapointed yesterday. I really expected a nice size slice of thin crust pizza - so I ordered 2 - to go - one for my husband and I - and the slice was so flimsy, didn't have much cheese and not much pepperoni. I knew it was going to be a disaster when they put the slices on a thin white paper plate and put them in a brown paper bag. I ate one slice and didn't even give the other to my husband because I knew he was going to complain about it. With so many other choices in Berkeley for pizza slices -I will pass on Bobby G's, and will not be going back. more

My husband and I are now regulars at Bobby G's. We live close by, and think it is a fantastic place. The food is creative, fresh, and always satisfying. My personal favorite is their bolognese pasta, while my husband tends to sample from the various pies on their menu. When I find a good thing, I tend to stick with it (i.e., the bolognese), but I must admit that I usually end up eating half of whatever my husband orders. Last time he ordered the arugula and cheese pie, which is a great combination of cheeses and, of course, arugula. It's a great combination of flavors without being too heavy on anything. And that's what we love about the place. They definitely get that less is sometimes more, and we always leave there full and quite content. We've been eating here for a few months now, and have watched the place evolve quite nicely. They have some great local artwork on the walls, and built a nice bar (my husband was much more excited than me, since he insists that it is sacrilegus to eat pizza without an ice cold beer). The owner is a very nice, personalable guy who seems genuinely interested in our feedback. My husband suggested to him once that he make hot sauce available (weird, I know, but my husband loves hot sauce on everything). The owner said, ""Great idea. I think I'll do that."" Sure enough, the next time we came in, there was a nice selection of hot sauces available for us. We were extemeley flattered by the fact that he not only listened, but that he took action. That was pretty much the day that my husband and I decided that Bobby G's was going to be a regular stop for us. Two thumbs up to Bobby G and his great staff! I went because a friend knows someone who works here, so I said I would be happy to try this new place. Because of this, I was biased to like it - even if it was bad, I was going to like it! more

Very few restaurants inspire me to even write a review, so the fact that I am writing this says a lot. My friend turned me on to this place a few months back, and I have visited them many times since then. They have a great thin crust pizza made with organic dough and sauce... an unusual treat. A plain cheese slice is very satisfying, but they also offer a wide selection of signature pies. My personal favorite is the meat lovers pie, which has a great combo of meats and whole milk mozarella. My wife prefers the veggie route, and loves their mushroom pie, which uses a tasty combo of shrooms and truffle oil. When you walk into the place, it's pretty obvious that these people care about quality. The place is clean, the service is great, and it's nicely decorated. Most times I've been there, the owner has walked by, said hello, and has welcomed my feedback on the place. Good customer service seems to be a thing of the past for most places, but these guys really get it. The owner is also a blues musician and supports the local arts, which is very cool. They have nice local artwork on the walls, and he says that live music will be coming soon. I think this place will do well, because they offer the whole package... great food and a great atmosphere. Kudos to Bobby G's... these guys have done a great job in building a nice destination for casual but quality food in downtown Berkeley. Pros: Food, service, and all the little extras they offer more

Bobby G's is a great addition to the downtown Berkeley food scene! Fresh, organic ingredients; Vegan and Vegetarian options; and a Meat Lovers pie to die for! Truly something for everyone. Their space is big, warm, and clean and the staff is super friendly. I've been here a few times for lunch and dinner already, and it is quickly becoming my favorite food spot in downtown Berkeley. Pros: Fresh, organic pizza! Best pizza place in town! What more can I say? Cons: Parking can be difficult in downtown area, but plenty of lots around. Better yet, ride a bike! more
