After looking at more than a dozen other venues for my daughter's wedding, I stumbled upon The Victorian at Hemphill Mansion while surfing the internet . The bride-to-be was living in San Diego, which made any decision making a nightmare. I was about an inch away from handing the kids a check and asking them to elope. I decided I would look at The Victorian since I didn't need an appointment and showing up for ""open house"" seemed easy enough. I attended the next open house (usually held on Monday evenings from 4-8) and left there with a big load off of my shoulders. I had finally found and booked the venue! And there's more... Not only had I found the perfect venue, but the wedding package included the officiate, the caterer, and the DJ! Bob Caudle was like a breath of fresh air to work with. Maintaining a high level of professionalism, he was relaxed, friendly, FUNNY, but most of all accommodating. There were menu options for any budget. I was able to customize the menu for my event. At The Victorian I was able to supply all of the alcohol (saving TONS of money) and Bob provided a bartender and condiments for a minimal fee. All unconsumed alcohol was boxed up and given to me at the end of the evening. We were permitted to decorate the way we wanted to and given ample time to do so. The kids met with the DJ in advance and were able to provide a list of songs for both the ceremony and the reception. Bob did a super job keeping things moving on the big day and his staff was great. THE FOOD WAS SUPERB. When it was time to wrap things up, rather than kicking everyone out, Bob invited the remaining guests to join him down the street at a nightclub where the fun continued. Everyone is still talking about the great time that was had by all. I highly recommend The Victorian for any event. Your guests will be delighted by the charm of the mansion and impressed with the stellar service. The best part is YOU will be able to relax and ENJOY! A++
