Review content:
This is an update to a past review. My husband was in Bayonet Pointe Health and Rehab Center for about a month. He went in there with a slight sore on his buttock. After a 3 week period his Stage 1 bedsore developed into a Stage 4 cepsis bedsore. In addition he became severely dehydrated because of the fact the staff either didnt care or wasnt aware of his limited movement to reach fluids. He was supposed to be turned every 2 hours to avoid more damage to his bedsore and wasnt. Any time we went to visit him he was on his back asleep or in a wheelchair asleep IN the dark I might add. Fortunately he was placed into the hopsital since they finally realized they couldnt handle the problems. He nearly died from neglect. I have also heard that this facility had been closed at one time for neglect. The place is very nice looking and clean...but what good is it if the patient doesnt get the care they need?
