My hard drive suddenly out of no where, without any signs or warnings would no longer power on nor detect. This was strange to me because I used it the night before just like I do day in and day out. I take every precaution, even safely remove disconnect the drive prior to unplugging the usb cable (this is an external drive). My immediate reaction was that the casing on the hard drive which connects the disk to the usb adapter crapped out, hence all I would need to do is buy a new casing and plug the drive in thru there. I went out and did acquired a new casing, but my theory did not work. The hard drive still did not detect. I found Hard Drive and RAID Data Recovery Services San Jose online and contacted them for further information. The process was fairly simple as described by the rep, I bring in the hard drive for free diagnostics, they perform the analysis and present me with results & price quote, at which point I would decide if I want to proceed or not. That's exactly what I did. I thought it over for a few days, finally I gave in and decided to continue with it. Once the recovery was finished I was presented with a file list to verify the data. I did a verbal verification and requested some screen shots, which assured me even more everything was restored. I now have the data back. Hard Drive and RAID Data Recovery Services San Jose did an excellent job and restored all of my data.
