I was so stoked with the tattoo Julie did for me! First off, let me say that I'm not a 'tattoo person'. I have an MBA and a professional job, and I'm not into the tattoo scene or lifestyle. In my younger days, I got a tattoo that I can say didn't turn out so well. After I had the tattoo removed via laser removal (big mistake...should have gotten a cover up instead), the removal process left some severe scarring. I never again wanted a tattoo, but was very unsatisfied with the scarring and white outline of the removed tattoo. It was very embarrassing for me, such that I was uncomfortable without my shirt on. I did lots of research on 'cover up' tattoos and tattooing over scars on the Internet, found Julie and felt that she was the best person for the job. And, man, I'm glad I chose her! She knew exactly the technique to mask the old tattoo/scarring. I would say that she is an expert in this field and she should definitely market herself as such. She was confident (even while I was nervous as to what to expect) and patient with me. Also, as far as design, she took my ideas of what I wanted and developed the custom artwork, all at no additional charge. She spent lots of time with the art, going thru a few revisions before we settled on the final design...I just gave her ideas of what I wanted and she interpreted it PERFECTLY. The tattoo covers up the old scar/tattoo so well, it is completely masked and not visible to anyone, even myself! Julie is truly an artistic person. I couldnt have ever imagined it would have turned out as good as it did! I would also add that her price was very reasonable! I'm not necessarily a person who writes reviews, but for Julie, I am more than happy to do so. I hope her business thrives and would encourage ANYONE to go see her if they've ever wanted or needed a tattoo, cover-up or otherwise. Don't even think about going to someone who is not highly recommended...this is your body and the art is PERMANENT (don't ever count on laser removal to fix things!). Only go to someone that comes highly recommended like Julie. I should also say, don't feel threatened or uncomfortable with the tattoo parlor surroundings..I'm a conservative, Republican person, and tattoo parlors are somewhat out of my comfort zone (probably because of my experience when I was younger) but I'm so very happy that I went to Julie.
