Review content:
I am convinced that BR54 and SJP5 are envious competitors trying to undermine the restaurant. I have been a regular customer at Vines since it opened and I can say WITHOUT reservation that these complaints are not even REMOTELY representative of the service and cordiality at Vines. Simply put, the owners hire wait staff expressly for their ability to deal with customers. The owners and staff go OUT of their way to be helpful, knowledgable and friendly. I have often seen new first time customers come in and accidentally order a wine which they don't care for. I have seen the owners and bar staff simply pick up the wine and not charge the customer, help them find a wine they like, or provide another drink. Also, I have seen the chef fix wonderful special dishes for guests OFF the menu.To put it bluntly, if you avoid Vines, you'll miss out on a VERY nice experience. As part of contributing to a local wine blog, I have been to many Wine Bars/Bistros all around the state and Vines is in the first rank for quality and variety of wine choices, quality of its food, service and ambiance. Rude uncaring service? Poor food? HOGWASH!!!!
