Businiess name:  Chocolate Bar

Review content:
Two years ago, the Chocolate Bar was superb, the flavors sublime, the attention to detail remarkable. Today, not so much. The evening started on an off note, and then got worse. First, noticed that the rose on the table was sitting in cloudy, obviously old water. We were finally given two different menus with different prices for some of the same things. Initially ordered the pot de creme. The wafer on top tasted like bug spray ? a very chemical flavor that kept on coming in waves and which made my tongue numb. The chocolate beneath had taken on some of that flavor and lacked the silky-smooth, luscious flavor of the past. Okay, maybe it was an isolated problem. Ordered a cheese plate. Took 20 minutes, and when it arrived, it was so sparse it was almost comical. The walnut bread was stiff and hard and the cheese wedge was very small. Two strikes. So, surely the chocolate martini would still be delicious, right? It was okay, but in a chocolate milk kind of way ? no discernable liquor. Summary ? prices up, quality down, portions smaller. How sad. What happened? Is this place on its way out of business, a victim of a bad economy? Did the ownership change? I want the old Chocolate Bar back!
