Review content:
Ontario Beach is not a great place to swim. The sandy beach itself is nice to relax in, but swimming is mostly prohibited during the summer months due to high bacteria in the water. Its not a clean area of the lake to swim in and the water is usually cold. It is a nice place to picnic and go on the carousel, listen to music in the summer months during thier concert nights. The food places around the beach are nice. Parking is ample, but hard to find when an event is going on there. The park is patroled by police and for the most part is a safe place to be. The pier is nice to walk on and watch the boats go by, but its nothing compared to florida beaches. Its a nice break from the city, but if you're looking for a real beach outing, you wont find it in western ny.
