Businiess name:  Martinelli, Kathy, Dvm - Westside Animal Hospital

Review content:
I should divulge that I do take my pets to this veterinary hospital, and I have for years. I have grown increasingly disenchanted with the place, though, and would have left by now if this wasn't the most convenient vet for me. The reasons for my negative feelings are many. First, the office and treatment (and surgery) areas are tiny. There are more modern and well-equipped vets in town. My dogs find the tight quarters frightening, and I don't recommend leaving an animal there overnight if you can help it -- tiny cages and little oversight. Second, this is very much a money-oriented business, even compared to local (very expensive!) emergency vets. The charges at Westside will shock you. Third, the practice has become less and less personal over the years, and they are even having vet techs do some of the exams now! The head vet is too egotistical to even deal with. On the good side, the support staff is excellent, and I highly recommend Dr. Martinelli. Overall, Westside is by no means a place to be avoided, but I'd recommend shopping around if you can. There are some truly wonderful vets, and nicer facilities, in other parts of town. Pros: Wonderful support staff. Cons: Impersonal, money-oriented feel overall. Tiny and poorly-equipped facility.
