Review content:
Make sure you see the actual apartment you will be renting, not just the model. We looked at the model several times before moving my daughter into her apartment. Unfortunately, the one she and her roommates got was not in 'model' shape. Just to name a few of the major concerns: The fire escape door did not lock, giving access to their patio and apartment to ANYONE. The one patio door was also broken. There was a screen broken from one of the patio doors and a screen missing from the other patio door. The front door frame is totally distroyed and even though there is a deadbolt on the door, it does not secure properly. The Air Conditioner is broken. The grout in the bathroom tile floor is black with mildew. The carpets were never cleaned or even vacuumed. The blinds in the living room are so dirty, you can see the dirt from the other side of the room. The bottom of the cupboard under the kitchen sink is warped and mildewed. There is a cover missing from the florescent light in the kitchen. Oh yeah....did I forget to mention the rodents and all the little terds on the kitchen counters? We (all the parents involved and the girls in this apartment) have contacted the apartment management and maintenance numerous times with no luck. So far, the only thing they have done is fixed the fire escape door. However, the patio door and front door have still not been repaired.....leaving this apartment (with 4 young girls) very UNSECURED!
