Review content:
Yes, Swagat may be the most American friendly Indian cuisine here in Portland, but it is still consistantly the best! We have been eating here since they opened many years ago, often twice a week, and have only been disappointed a few times. We have taken to going the "take-out" route, as the wait-staff has become more and more unreliable. But the food... yes, always reliable. And the cooks are the real thing. More often than not, we will request a special dish not on the menu. This is never a problem with the cooks (however, it may take some convincing the part of the waitstaff). We suggest Swagat as a starting point for anyone not familiar with Indian cuisine. Although we frequent many Indian restaurants in Portland, Swagat will always be our old reliable. Just writing this review makes me hungry...
Pros: Reliable food!, Prompt service!, Delicious!
Cons: Dumbed down for USA, IHOP atmosphere., Waitstaff unhelpful~
