My better half took our dog to this vet to be neutered. We were using a prepaid certificate for the neuter from "Friends of Animals." We dropped off our dog with no issues. A couple of hours later, the doctor called me to let me know that they performed tooth extraction for my dog because he still had a "baby tooth", this was an additional $15 charge. Within 15 minutes, the doctor called again to let me know that they were going to give my dog a "booster shot" because it was their policy and that the person at the counter should have explained this and it would be an additional charge of $26 and that the person at the counter should have explained their policy of giving this booster shot. I told the doctor that the counter person had not explained anything other than coming back later in the evening to pick the dog up and if there are any complications the dog may have to stay overnight. I recapped the additional charges: $15 for the tooth extraction and $26 for the booster, so that there would be no surprises when I came later that evening to pick my dog up for the neutering. When I arrived to pick up my dog, the person at the counter told me that the total charges for the neutering would be over $180. I discussed the variance from the billing and what the doctor called me to let me know. The doctor claimed that the person at the counter should have explained all the additional charges. They did not. They are not helpful. Seems that they are all about getting your pet in there and then running up the bill without first consulting the pet owner. Oh yeah, did I mention that I brought my dog in for a NEUTERING and not a tooth extraction or booster shot?
