Review content:
In fact, I'm from an area with a number of tasty Thai restaurants. I'm also a vegetarian in a loose sense, meaning fish sauce is ok. I ordered the tofu pad thai, a Thai staple, from a huge menu padded with every possible combination of simple dishes and a few random ones. My pad thai was nicely presented, but VERY fishy. It seemed like either there was too much fish sauce in it or it hadn't been cooked long enough to get rid of the odor. My dining companion convinced me to send it back, something I'd never done. The waiter said the chef thought I was wrong about the smell and flavor because I'm vegetarian, and didn't I know there was fish sauce in it? No, it was awful; yes, I know about fish sauce. The replacement was very light on fish sauce, and nothing special anyway.
Pros: service, atmosphere/decor
Cons: not great pad thai
