I like several BBQ joints in Kansas City... and I will say that the only bad one isnt even from Kansas City...And who goes around claiming they are famous anyway? Thats like the kid who came up with his own nickname in elementary school, and ate his boogers during reading time. I think that Zarda BBQ Is probably my personal favorite, and is to me, the definition of Kansas City BBQ. I do not see how anybody could say that they "refuse to serve people if they are busy"...Does that even make sense? Would a business refuse to serve if they are busy? Are they not there to make money?...and if they are busy...and there is a long line...doesnt that mean they are good? In all honesty....Zarda Has around 6 people with individual registers up front checking people out. Most I others I have seen have maybe two...and some even have one. Those place will get lines because only one person is able to take thier order. If Zarda has a line with its 6 people taking orders at one time and they were so busy they refused to take orders...hmm...that must have been some crowd in there...and they must be doing something right. I have seen wal-mart have less registers open than that. If you dont want to stand in line, how about you go on down the street and get a nice Arby-Q for 99 cents. I think that would be a little more your speed. Pros: Good BBQ great service Cons: Not a downtown location
