I was taking bids for our basement project and someone that I worked with recommended that I at least consider a bid from Ironwood Custom Builders. I took a bid from them at the very last minute when I had already decided to go with someone else.
I decided to use Ironwood because their bid was very straightforward and inclusive of a lot of information that often is not addressed in initial bids. Ironwood, for example, included built-in upgrades in the price. I believed that there was nothing hidden that would end up costing us more money later.
Another thing that gave me confidence in Ironwood was the number of awards -- home show awards and others -- that they had received. When I saw their awards, I knew that the quality of their work would be very good. I had been to some of those home shows and recalled the work that they were talking about, which gave me a lot of new ideas for making our basement more modern and functional.
Also, the work that they do is diverse, from landscaping to pools to finishing basements. So, I liked knowing that I would be able to continue using them down the road for a variety of projects that we wanted to do.
We had a great experience working with Ironwood. They were there when they said they would be and they were extremely professional. I felt comfortable having them in my home even when I was not at home.
If ever there was anything that I did not like, they came right back in and immediately addressed my concerns. There was never a disagreement or conflict.
Everything turned out better than we expected in terms of the quality of the work. It all came together and turned out to be gorgeous and functional.
One of the last things that they said about our basement was, "When we are out of here, you will be able to really enjoy and use this space." We do. It is one of our favorite places to be.
