I had two main objectives critical to this remodel project. 1. Repair water damage where the main water line enters the basement. The end product turned out fine. I had wanted a hindged door installed in front of the water shut off valve but instead I got a clamp on panel that is a little hard to reinstall after it has been removed. 2. The contractor also assured me that an air duct could be modified to deliver air to the upstairs Living Room. Based on that assurance, I gave the remodel project to Ironwood. After the work started, I was told the airduct could not be modified as we agreed. This was very disappointing to me because it was a primary concern that I wanted completed as part of the contract. Other contractors that looked at the scope of work told me upfront that the duct could not be modified. They were eliminated because Ironwood could make the airduct modification.
One other concern I had was with the drywall contractor employees. The were a group of young kids that were noise and "horsed around" They cause some minor damage to the door frame while carrying drywall doqwn the stairs. It appeared to me that they were trying to see who could get the drywall down the stairs the faster. Lastly, the drywallers were very messy. They did their work but never took the time to adjust dropcloths to keep the carpet clean. It was necessary to have the carpet shampooed.
Aside from these issues, we are satisfied with the end result. We have also recommended Ironwood to a co-worker where my wife works.
