My Mom brought me to Stone Oak Jewelers to sell my 5 ounce gold bar after I totaled my car. I'd hoped my parents would help buy me an inexpensive replacement just to get back on my feet. But with this depressed economy, and the fact I wrecked the other one, they weren't very motivated to help. So I've had this gold bar for about 20 years now and with gold on the rise in value I decided to sell it to buy my car myself. When we got there I thought Mom was going to take charge so i got the best deal but she had me do it. I met with Dan, the owner I think, and he was very polite & professional. He examined my bar with the laser thing that tells you the exact content of the bar, then he checked the weight and made me a very strong offer. I was prepared to haggle to a better price but Dan shocked my with his offer being several hundred more than i expected so I just took his offer right there on the spot. I'm driving again, I am grateful, and feel like I've learned allot from this experience.
