Businiess name:  YMCA Camp Manitou-Lin

Review content:
I recently attended a wedding at Gates Chapel at the YMCA Camp Manitou-Lin. My husband and our three children, arrived and were immediately impressed with the beautiful wooded location. We parked in the parking lot, and then headed for the large building next to it, thinking this was the chapel. One of the other guests saw us, and told us that the chapel was actually in the woods. We then started the hike to the chapel. This walk would probably not seem far, had we been expecting it, or if I had not had three children and I was not wearing high healed open toed sandals. The path is a mixture of sand, pebbles, and mulch. Which is fine for someone in tennis shoes or hiking boots, but combined with heals and open toed sandals, was a bit painful! We arrived at the wedding 15 minutes early, and by the time we reached the chapel, we only had a few minutes to spare. Thankfully, the wedding was running late, so we were ok. The older guests and those on crutches were visibly struggling to reach the chapel. It would have been nice for the camp to offer some sort of transportation for the guests. When we reached the chapel, the view was breathtaking. It overlooks the lake, which was very pretty. There is a little bridge leading from the path to the chapel shelter which is a nice touch. The shelter itself resembles a picnic shelter with a vaulted ceiling, but the setting is so pretty, you don't really notice, and with decorations, it was quite pretty. My suggestion for anyone planning to have a wedding here would be to warn the guests to bring some comfortable shoes for the hike. Most of the women took their heals off for the hike back to the parking area, which could be dangerous if there was something sharp on the ground.
