I took my vehicle to four different body shops today to get an estimate. The estimates ranged from $154 at Spirit West, to $1900 at Acura. The top three were all within about $500 of each other. That's still a lot of variability, but not anywhere near as discrepant as the one from Spirit West. The major difference was that all of the three others said my whole muffler needed to be replaced and Spirit West was just going to bend it back into place. Now this might obtain the lowest estimate for them, but it left me with no confidence in them, and made me leery of their ability to judge what needs to be done, considering all three other places all said the muffler needed to be replaced. So if you want a low estimate, try them, but be wary of what you might get.
