I haven't been here since before last year's hurricanes and the new renovation (now the parking lot is just as pretty as the inside!), but I do want to go back soon.
My BF and I used to go there for picnic lunches--they have picnic tables near the front entrance as well benches throughout the gardens. After lunch we would stroll the grounds and, if we brought our camera, take pictures. Great photo ops.
Throughout the year they offer classes and hold annual sales open to the public (often for a fee), but usually the grounds are open to the public and based on the honor system you can leave a donation at the entrance.
