Which is why I chose this shop to make my wedding cake, groom's cake, and to cater my reception. The package price was within my budget and I knew the cakes would be delicious. She accepted my down payment, with the balance to be paid at the reception.
Unfortunately, due to personal reasons, the owner forgot about my wedding. The day before we called to confirm the details, she confessed that it had slipped her mind. She was able to make the wedding cake and have it ready for the reception but we had to scurry to find someone to make the groom's cake (my mother-in-law baked a chocolate one at home) as well as provide food for our guests (we ended up picking up food from a local BBQ place).
Her cakes are wonderful, but if planning a major life event with her baked delights one should call and double/triple check the details. She did refund a portion of the money, but it did not compensate for the last minute stress and anxiety.
