I generally do not write reviews, but felt it necessary in this case. I have used most of the Vets in Ulster county with mixed results. Until I went to Hoppenstedt Veterinary Hospital, I was never completely pleased with the doctors and staff at most hospitals. This country vet is fantastic. I was greeted by a friendly receptionist who helped me collect my records from other hospitals and had numerous insiteful questions about my dog, Buddy. The lobby is rustic but informative and comfortable. The fireplace looks like it would be very comforting in the winter. The nurses were kind, compassionate and very informative. The doctor, Dr. Banister, greeted Buddy as soon as he entered the room and had a warm and caring attitude. He asked numerous questions about Buddy's health and previous care, and reviewed his medical history from the previous hospitals. Dr. Banister then performed a complete physical exam from head to toe. He was able to determine Buddy's problem form the previous lab work and physical exam. I dont think Buddy ever had a more complete exam. As were were discharged, the nurses reviewed Buddy's care and made some diet recommendations. The cost was reasonable for the care Buddy received. I am now transfering all my pets to Dr. Banisters care. If you have a pet you truly love and would like the best medical care for him then go to Hoppenstedt Veterinary Hospital, you will not be disappointed.
