I saw an ad for the car I was looking for, on Craigslist. It was a car being advertised by Freeman (FMC). I called ahead to make the sure the car was still available. I went there, and signed a form, and FMC (Brandon) gave me the key. I took off in it for 30 minutes. I came back, asked questions, and through no pressure at all, I decided to buy the car. FMC put $40 worth of gas in it and I was on my way. The car had some known, pre-advertised issues. I made a deal to purchase the car at a certain price with the known issues to be repaired as part of the deal. After a couple of SNAFUs, my new car's issues got repaired by the friendly, helpful repair staff (Sterling). AND, they gave me a loaner car to use while the known issues were being fixed/repaired.
Bottom line: I got a good, solid deal on my new-used car. The deal was so good that even though I will have a small bumper dent and some scratches repaired, I can still easily make $3,000 or $4,000 on the car should I desire to sell it rather than drive it. FMC has good deals (check KBB or Edmunds before you buy in order to check your prices and you will see just what I'm talking about). They are obviously a low-overhead, high volume pre-owned European car dealer. I would be willing to -- and likely will do business with them again! I hope they keep up the good work!
Pros: Great selection, Easy Processes, Great Low Prices
Cons: Too far to travel if you don't live in SW Portland area (but worth the drive if you are a serious buyer).
