Review content:
In honor of restaurant week, my husband and I decided to take an extended lunch break from work and shower Lulu's with our patronage. The prix fixe menu here was truly an exceptional deal - $10 for a three course meal, including appetizer, entree and dessert!
I enjoyed the soup du jour (lentil on the day I dined), french dip sandwich with fries, and the strawberry nutella crepe for dessert. My other half commissioned the Indian lunch crepe for an entree. I found the soup and sandwich to be rather mundane; they were decent, but not exactly distinct from similar fare found at typical family diners. The dessert crepe was significantly more pleasing to the palate though. My consort found his Indian crepe savory and appetizing, though sadly not as filling as he would have wished.
The courses came out rather slowly and our drink glasses sat empty without refills for the majority of our meal. I was in a placid mood so it didn't bother me too much, but normally I would've expected more attentive service. I don't think we were deliberately neglected; rather, they were seriously understaffed.
All in all I found Lulu's to be quite the little bijou. I will definitely revisit to try some of the other crepes, and I hope they will hire a few more servers and chefs!
Pros: delicious crepes, polite servers, incomparable butter
Cons: slow service (perhaps they need more staff)
