Review content:
Good: I think Dr. Jodie is an excellent veterinarian, and we had excellent results from the holistic supplements, Chinese herbs, and acupuncture treatments that she provided our pets. She is very compassionate and sensitive and has excellent "intuition" about the best way to approach a medical problem.. Bad: The front desk staff is--almost across the board--impersonal and incompetent. On several different occasions the staff dispensed medications with incorrect labeling, and when I finally reported my frustrations to Dr. Jodie, she told me the staff dreaded my coming in because I was so "difficult" to deal with. (I don't think it's asking too much for the staff to label medications properly, do you?) I was tactful in my discussion with Dr. Jodie, but she told me I'd have to live with it--so I left.. Improvements: Dr. Jodie is a great vet but she needs a staff that is better trained, more competent, more personable, and more professional. She defended her staff even when they clearly had screwed up and this is not appropriate. I worked as a veterinary receptionist for many years, and I know that--especially when a vet (like Dr. Jodie) doesn't make her/himself readily available to speak with in person--the attitude and competence of the vet's spokesperson/liaison makes all the difference in the world to a client..
