Awful! 10/5/2012

When I was looking for a more holistic vet to take my dog to I came across the Animal Doctor. On the website, everything sounded great. Actually being there is a whole other story. Dr. Jodie is unbelievably rude, condescending, demeaning, and snobby. I have never had such a horrible vet visit. It seems like she tries very hard just to make her clients feel awful. After speaking to some other people I have learned this is very typical behavior for her. Her staff isn't any better. It is not a welcoming environment at all. Dr. Jodie really needs to work on her people skills. I will never be going back there. more

my impressions of Animal Doctor 9/12/2011

Good: I think Dr. Jodie is an excellent veterinarian, and we had excellent results from the holistic supplements, Chinese herbs, and acupuncture treatments that she provided our pets. She is very compassionate and sensitive and has excellent "intuition" about the best way to approach a medical problem.. Bad: The front desk staff is--almost across the board--impersonal and incompetent. On several different occasions the staff dispensed medications with incorrect labeling, and when I finally reported my frustrations to Dr. Jodie, she told me the staff dreaded my coming in because I was so "difficult" to deal with. (I don't think it's asking too much for the staff to label medications properly, do you?) I was tactful in my discussion with Dr. Jodie, but she told me I'd have to live with it--so I left.. Improvements: Dr. Jodie is a great vet but she needs a staff that is better trained, more competent, more personable, and more professional. She defended her staff even when they clearly had screwed up and this is not appropriate. I worked as a veterinary receptionist for many years, and I know that--especially when a vet (like Dr. Jodie) doesn't make her/himself readily available to speak with in person--the attitude and competence of the vet's spokesperson/liaison makes all the difference in the world to a client.. more

Good vet service (*) 7/28/2010

Interesting that the reviews for this clinic are across the board. That is very accurate of the service you will get at this clinic. Some days are very good, others are not. Staff turnover is high, and vet service is dependent on her stress level. Dr. Jodi loves animals, not so good with humans. She is very knowledgeable, but also very forgetful. Documentation is poor!!!! This create tremendous confusion when trying to correct medical issues- they're unable to accurately correct issues because the chart is incorrect. Her daughter, Lindsey (office manager), has mom's people skills. I feel awful for the desk staff that work under her. I would really like to continue taking my dog to see this vet, however I feel that her personality is far too unstable. more

Insulted!!! 2/1/2010

Our beloved Shih Tzu was recently diagnosed with CHF... I made an appt. with Dr. Jodie, and was excited about taking a more "natural approach"to help her. When reading about the clinic, it sounded different, and refreshing. I felt they would be as compassionate as they stated in on their site. I never got that feeling from the first minute we walked in...and it went way downhill from there. On my last visit, I ran in during my lunch hour to pick something up...the young lady at the desk proceeded to check me out, when she was interrupted by Dr. Jodie. (who barely said hello)Without so much as an "excuse me" they went to the back, and the next thing I saw the young lady put on her coat & leave! I was always taught in business, that there is no more important than the person in front of you! Another receptionist finally took over. I also asked her for the cost of a refill. She gave me a very high quote. I decided to order through 1800Petmeds, at literally 1/2 the price! Unfortunately, I needed vet approval, which I could not get. I then spoke to their office manager, Lindsay. When I told her what I was quoted, and that I needed to get the prescription going, she told me that no one but her has the capability of quoting prices, and it would be impossible to get a quote. Her exact words to me were"Somebody here is lying"... She went on to say that their staff is "overworked, underpaid, hence the reason I received sub-par service. At that moment, I thought, if she is representative of any future services, I better cut ties now! She went on to say that clients such as myself are unappreciative, and do not understand what they are going through. Whoa!!! Information overload!! What does this have to do with me? Needless to say, I would NEVER, EVER, think of continuing with such a demeaning and insulting practice! I don't care how great anyone is at their craft...if you don't have the people skills, and true compassion for your client...you will never to earn the respect of displaying your talents or skills! BEWARE! more

Best Vet I have ever taken my pets to. Helped me tremendously with my two dogs, I had some real doubts about traditional vet practices and wanted someone who uses both traditional and holistic. Animal Doctor fit the bill. Dr. Jodie figured out both my girls were grain intolerant and we took them off dry foods and specialty dry diets and put them on Nature's Menu a raw diet that is formulated so that you can cook slightly, Chinese Herbals, Seacure supplement, and Standard Process supplements. My 11 year old dogs are doing great even the one with a compromised immune system. The whole staff at Animal Doctor are dedicated professionals. I just met Dr. Lisa a new addition to Animal Doctor Inc. She is definitely a good fit for Animal Doctor. A true dedicated professional. more

Animal Doctor is located in Muskego, near Pick N' Save. Dr. Jodie is the veterinary. Dr. Jodie uses traditional and holistic-herbal care. The office offers ultrasound and acupuncture along with chiropractic services. Animal Doctor carries natural diet food including raw meat. My pets were seen by Dr. Jodie years ago. I tried Animal Doctor instead of my usual vet. I preferred my usual vet. Dr. Jodie is great with the animals, but I guess I was used to my usual vet. more
