Als did something different this year. They're only locking prices for November - February. I was nervous this year, but I couldn't see paying $2.59 for a delivery now when I can get it for $2.19. I was also angry about locking in for $4 last year.
I spoke with Steve at Al's and he took the time to explain it all to me. Nothing I can do about last year, but it turns out I will probably only get 1 oil delivery that I need to lock in, I'll do that.
It was nice that he took the time to talk to me. I use Al's, but I called around because I was looking at other lock in rates. Nobody else acted like they cared if what they were selling was right for me. Heck, it was tough even getting a person to talk to me for more than two minutes at some places.
Steve took the time and explained that he doesn't think oil is going to go up a lot more, but I could protect my one winter delivery just in case. This made sense to me.
