Review content:
I live in downtown manhattan and when I first read about Cabrito in New York MAgazine's Goat article I was very intrigued. So, I paid a visit and it was immediately apparent that this was not you average mexican joint. The place is comfortable, layered with handmade mexican tile and great rock and roll music! The servers explained the provenance of much of the meats...goat from a small family farm in vermont, heritage pork, housemade tortillas...wow, I thought, not the run-of-the mill stuff. The a I tried a Sandia...a mix of mezcal, campari and watermelon juice (fresh juice!) and I my lips began to water. Slow roasted goat, 15 hour cooked carnitas and a pork belly taco with jicama tamarind slaw and I was convinced that this is the best mexican join in NYC, no doubt. Fresh, friendly, no pretentions and real high quality product...and the prices are low to moderate...this is the kind of forward thinking, new generation of ethnic restaurants our city needs...keep it going guys...we love you! Pros: food, prices, cocktail, service
