Review content:
My Japanese wife and I have scoured the city in search of good sushi. There are a few trendy restaurants that get high reviews on this website but are actually very poor in quality. There are also a few restaurants that receive little publicity but can be relied on for authentic, fresh sushi. This was our first visit to Sushi-Yuka, but it will not be our last.
We ordered standard nigiri sushi; Toro, Ikura, Hotagai, Amaebi (unfortunately they were out of Uni ) etc. on this night. Unlike the big hunks of fish that look like they were chopped with an axe that are so popular elsewhere, Sushi-Yuka has a nice balance of fish and rice with little touches of shiso and salmon roe placed here and there. The waitstaff are very attentive without being overbearing, and the service is relaxed yet prompt. You can feel the sincere effort to please customers. The price is reasonable considering the quality of the food and the location of the restaurant. The menu included a lot of other Japanese dishes--nearby a Japanese couple was clearly enjoying their soba--but on this night we stuck with sushi.
Take it from people who know sushi--this place is good.
Pros: Prompt, friendly service, fresh sushi, pleasant ambience, easy parking
