Review content:
I must admit, this was my first time trying real Indian cuisine. Feeling adventurous, and highly recommended by my co workers I indulged in a fun and pleasurable exploration of taste at Royal India an Exquisite Indian cuisine and cocktails in the Gaslamp area of San Diego located at 329 Market street, a place that definitely lived up to its name Royal.
. Large restaurant was about half full when we arrived there on thursday night. We parked on 2nd avenue parking lot which is just two blocks and walking distance from Royal India and paid $5 parking fee. We were greeted and seated by hostess and immediately server filled up our glass of water. Server was attentive and came to us in couple of minutes and we asked her about her favorite food and she told us that she eat Chicken tikka masala at Royal India every time she work. She said grills take bit longer because they are roasted in the clay oven fresh and not pre cooked meats just reheated. we did not mind if it took longer for our food because we wanted fresh and the best.
The last time I had curry was with disastrous results. I had decided to swear off it. Many years later, I decided to cast fate to the wind and tried the most popular item at Royal India Chicken Tikka Masala with Garlic Nan and my friend ordered Lamb kabab and that was fantastic and well worth it for us to try the most delicious Indian food, as they are prepared with much care and time at Royal India as per the server . The curry was fresh and not too overwhelming in flavor, the chicken was tender I?m glad I decided to open my taste buds again to this wondrous treat as I?m sure many curry lovers (or newcomers) would attest! Royal India gave friendly service, beautiful palace like atmosphere yet the prices are modest.
Rice pudding that leaves a great, satisfying sensation after a hearty, spicy meal. Keep an open mind and palate, and be ready for an evening of great, exotic food at Royal India! We will be back.
Pros: Ambience, service food Thumbs up
