before we left i read some reviews that said the gran melia was great but far away from any thing.this is so untrue yes its not in san juan but it was close to the rain forest the snorkeling trips the snuba trips the bio-bay trips so it was better than staying in town I mean you are in the carribaen. now i would suggest rental car because you can explore more for less but the melia has transport any where for a fee.the service was great you couldn't ask for better.the staff was wonderful frankie head of house keeping made apoint to check with us dayly to make sure we were ok.Lus was part of the concier sevice very friendly ready to make you happy.the pool side service was also great.I did think the breakfast buffet was priced to high for what it was. but over all this place is a great value. we look forward to going back.
