How can a business get such high ratings so consistently? Because they are awesome, that's how! They love my pets as much as I love them!
I've been going here for years wandering in only for treats and an occasional bath now and then and yet they always remember my dogs' name! Well, maybe it's because Bullit (spelled that way from the Steve McQueen movie) screams like a little girl in the bathtub. Or maybe it's because he's so handsome. Anyway...
The staff is extremely knowledgeable about their foods, treats, harnesses and everything! My other dog Ellis (my first name begins with "L" my husband begins with an "S".....hence "Ellis") has a weird shaped body and they patiently went through all the harnesses until we found one he couldn't shape shift out of. My old boy had health issues and they showed me the food he would love and boy did he! Even when my kitty Ditto had kidney stuff starting up they were able to guide me to the proper foods.
I would say "Thee Fish Bowl" is THE BEST but I haven't been to every single pet store in the world. The people who work there are all so helpful ("it's all about the service") but more importantly they are all so well informed. The store not only offers high quality foods you can trust but also really unique toys, leashes, clothing etc. You won't find cool stuff like this in the bigger box stores.
I think the experience that stands out to me most is the day I came in wanting to switch to a better food for my dog. I had discovered how bad a certain brand I was using was since I had already done a lot of research on some higher protein foods that I felt would be better for my high energy dog. I had narrowed it down to 2 or 3 different foods and I came into 'Thee Fish Bowl" to ask for help in making a final decision.
They told me what they liked about each, asked me some questions about my dogs, my budget and gave me insight into feedback from other customers. They never said "this is my favorite" or "this is the best" they were actively trying to help me figure out which was best for my dog and my situation. They knew in detail where each food is made, how they choose their ingredients and basically everything you could possibly want to know! I was able to make a more informed decision because of the knowledgeable staff at "Thee Fish Bowl"
I still can't walk out of this place without falling in love.....wanting to take home every dog in there but this is directly related to my lack of self control of "man's best friend". After buying two big bags of dog food I always add treats, bully sticks, toys, etc.
I'm just giving a friendly warning......... bring your self control with you when you visit. You'll need it.
