Review content:
Signed a three year contract back in 07' for maintenance on my trane air conditioner. The service was ok back then (American Home Maintenance)
The company is now called Orangutan home services. The last service on my old contract came up in 2010. I was told I had a bad dual cap, my system was working fine at the time. The cost of the dual cap was $489.00 I went ahead and had the guy replace it. Tom L, is his name. He told me since I was spending that kind of money I should sign up for a contract. I could sign up for a three year since the part was more expensive. I ended up signing up for a 5 year contract @ $699.00
Later my A/C failed during a hot of the summer, I was told it was the dual cap, so they came out and replaced it no charge. 2 months later another part failed I had to fork out $173.95 for a starter cap... I had a regularly scheduled tune up / system check come up in march 11' I'm told my inside coils are badly corroded.. He wrote on the service recommendation "Unit Replacement". Since I paid these jokers over the years to maintain my system, and I paid good money to have this thing properly maintained and serviced does it need replacement!! To add insult to injury the guy proceeded to try to get me write a check for 6K & have the thing replaced right away.. telling me that copper prices & electrical equipment prices are only going up.. I can't believe overall lack of consideration this company is just looking to line their pockets with your money.. then tell you later on that your system is shot... I regret ever signing any contract with this company.. don't do business with this outfit...!!!
