This veterinarian practice is the most caring, compassionate and knowledgeable vet practice I have EVER encountered. My dog was in excruciating pain with a bulging disk in his back. We took him to an emergency vet and another vet practice in Tallahassee for relief. They gave him pain medication to mask the pain, but once that wore off he was crying, shaking, panting uncontrollably. I took him to Oakwood and they gave him laser treatments as well as medication which alleviated the pain he was enduring. He had a relapse on a Sunday and Dr. Rudegeair drove 1 hour to meet us at his office, while he himself was recovering from pneumonia, to alleviate the pain my dog was experiencing.We continued with 6 laser treatments, an acupuncture treatment and alot of TLC and after 9 days our dog is back to like nothing every happened. We have to do what we can to keep him down and rest while he continues to heal. Donna is so wonderful and calming when we were so stressed out trying to help our dog. The entire staff is incredibly compassionate and truly cares about the welfare of your pet. I have NEVER recommended a vet practice before and we have lived in many different places - but if anyone comes to Tallahassee and wants to take their pet to a wonderful and trusting practice - I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Oakwood Animal Hospital and Wellness
