I recently moved to Austin and needed to find a dentist for my missing teeth. I had lost a few teeth over the years due to gum problems and my dentist where I used to live told me that all I could do was get a denture. Ewww! I did not want a denture! I heard a radio commercial offering "teeth in one day" so I called them up for an appointment. When I got there, they wanted to take out all of my teeth and have me pay something like $50,000! I knew my teeth were bad, but there is no way that they all needed to come out! Plus, I am not rich, so 50 grand was simply out of question (I did not even know you could spend that much on your teeth!) After that eye popping experience, I did a search on the internet for a good implant dentist. Thankfully I found Dr. Holtzclaw! Dr. Holtzclaw had great credentials and reviews. He also offered a free implant consultation, so I got an appointment. What a completely different experience from the first place I went to! His office is very nice and cozy. It does not look or feel like a typical dental office. It just feels very comfortable. Pictures of family and friends on the walls. Plants. Almost like your house, I guess is the best way to put it. Dr. Holtzclaw and his staff were very nice. They are friendly and down to earth. They did not jump right into my mouth ask for money. They got to know me first. Then they did an exam an took xrays. Dr. Holtzclaw then very thoroughly explained what was going on with my mouth. He was very patient and answered every single one of my questions and more. I have never had a doctor take so much time to make sure that I was fully informed. Unlike the first place which wanted to remove all of my teeth and take all of my money, Dr. Holtzclaw said he could fix me up with just a few implants and some bone surgery. The cost was WAY LESS than the first place. We have now finished the bone and implant surgeries and I just got my teeth! I can smile and chew again! Best of all, I still have cash in my pocket!
