I took my 3yr old to dr. fieldman for a cleaning and was told that he had a lot of cavitys and needed fillings and possibly to be put under anesthesia to have all the work done. They said we could try laughing gas and see how it goes first. They tried without the gas at first and filled one tooth. the second one he started to wiggle around so they said he refused treatment. they never gave him the gas. So they said he needs to be put under at st. v's and have the work done. They didnt do any xrays. And we were told that if we wanted a 2nd opinion there is someone that is a dentist in worcester that has someone drive in and they do it all in the office and he likes to do it in the hospital incase anything goes wrong. So basically we could get a 2nd opinion but its better to do it in the hospital. Well we went to another dentist and they actually did xrays. They said a root canal is not needed and he does not have 8 cavities! he has some tooth decay but we dont need to put him under. If we didnt get the 2nd opinion we would of paid at least $1200 out of pocket from the estimate. He would of done a root canal and filled 8 teeth that dont need to be filled. And they also suggested cleanings every 3 months. insurance only pays for every 6. They office was very friendly and i did like them but I was not comfortable having my son put at risk. Just get a second opinion.
