OK....maybe not JUST like what Grandma used to bake but pretty darn close and anyway, who has the time anymore to make such delectible breads and such? Certainly not this busy Mom of 2!
Located at 14 South Linn street, just a short walk from campus and the downtown area, THE COTTGE BAKERY is a nice chance of pace for those tired of the "fast food" fare.
Now I have been a customer of THE COTTAGE BAKERY for over 15 years....I used to work downtown and found their sandwiches and "goodies" not to be beat! I haven't been there is a few months but I have no doubt their fare is just as good if not better than my last visit there!
Now they are a bit more expensive than say your fast food burger but you will get quality bread here and healthier fare....at least fare that doesn't clog your arteries at the mere thought of it!!! And the portions are decent too....not enough to scare you but enough to fill you up and that's what matters after all!
Next time you are visiting someone in the Iowa City area or are just looking for something healthy with a definite Iowa City bent....give this shop a try....I promise you, you will leave satified with the quality, quantity and type of fare served!
