The food is fantastic, just don't go in expecting the dishes to be exactly the same as your run of the mill Indian food restaurants. Like most upscale hipster restaurants, Chakra reinvents the classics and adds some dishes that most have never heard of. Having been to the grand opening party as well as to the restaurant on a regular night (Thurs), I can say that the service is very attentive and professional. Even though the food and drinks are expensive (expect ~$30-$40/person for a drink plus one entree), the cool exotic ambience as well as the quality of the food makes it worth it. Even though there is a valet lot, you can easily find street parking on Doheny and its cross streets at night. If you are planning to go for dinner on a weekday and you are coming from the 405 and driving in down Wilshire and Santa Monica, give yourself nearly an hour to get from the freeway to Chakra! Pros: Food, interesting cocktails (Chakratinis), service, ambience, not very crowded on weekdays Cons: difficult to get to on a weekday during rush hour
