Review content:
This company called my mobile phone repeatedly today and recently. In many attempts they let the phone ring only twice and it was not enough for me to get to the phone. Finally I called the number back to find out what they want. They answered the phone with my name: Hello Amy how can I help you today" and I asked why they keep calling me. The guy told me their story about their program and at the end says "if you choose to continue the subscription you'll pay only 24.95 on your credit card on file, a MasterCard ending in (XXXX). I immediately stopped him and asked how he got my credit card information. He indicates that I must have purchased something online or on TV that was from a partner company. He was not able to give me the name of the company from whom they obtained my information "for privacy reasons." I consider my credit card numbers far more private than whatever I may have purchased online! He sent me to their customer service department who was equally unhelpful, except to tell me to write a letter to their office. I will be cancelling that credit card, as well as writing a letter to their office and the Florida Attorney General's office.
It's really too bad that companies who are doing legitimate business online will lose it because of scam artists like this who make people who are still spending money in this economy uncomfortable to buy online.
Pros: none
Cons: Illegally obtained credit card information
