I couldn't have had a more different experience at Blu than LadyLosFeliz did. Blu is a beacon of style and sophistication West of the Hudson River. I work in the media world in midtown, and have been to or booked appts. for bosses at all of the major 5th Ave salons. Blu stands apart by providing a similar standard of professional pampering, but without the snooty attitude. Everyone from the owner Melina down treats you like a member of their colorful family when you show up. I have spent whole afternoons getting my hair cut and my nails done, and on special occasions I grab a massage with Albert, who will make you feel like melted butter for the rest of the day. You'd have to have some sort of chip on your shoulder to think they treat anyone differently at Blu. All you have to do is glance at their world-class multicultural staff to see how silly that claim is. If it's real style you're after, with a big dose of attitude-free service, there's no need to ever go to Manhattan again.
