My dad, my 4 year old son and I went to visit the showroom at Elite Kitchen and Bath on Route 19 one afternoon. We were not greeted by anyone and went up to the front desk to ask some questions. I was holding my 4 year old son and put him down on the floor to walk around behind the desk. He walked right behind us to some bathroom sinks and in about one flat second one of the glass sinks crashed to the floor shattering in tons of pieces. All he did was put his hand in the sink and it toppled over. He was not being a rowdy boy and his behavior was not bad just curious. Why those sinks were not bolted to the wall was beyond us! He could have really been hurt and glass could have gone in his eyes or skin. The secretary at the front desk immediately ran to get the mess cleaned up. NOT once did she express any concerns for my son and then she proceeded to invoice us for the sink! She showed us a tiny sign on the wall behind the sink that says be carefull as these sinks are not bolted to the wall. Well a 4 year old cannot read and we were just in shock at her rude behavior. My son almost wet himself he was so scared that the sink fell. While she was invoicing us I held him on their counter and she immediately was rude to me again asking me to get him down off the counter even though I was holding him with my body completely in front of him. He was shaking and wanted to be held. She demanded my credit card and we said no way. Invoice me. She did. I should have contacted the police due to their carelessness and the harmful situation that she put my son into.
We ended up turning the invoice into our home owners insurance. She got full amount for the sink and not even at any discount. She was a real witch of a person to deal with and I can without a doubt tell you that we will never let them do any of our home renovation projects. I do have to give one employee credit as she came out from the back room and tried to cheer up my son. I wish I had her name to credit her but I did not get it in all the confusion and rudeness.
